Sprinkler System Maintenance
Yearly tasks for every homeowner: turn-on and winterization
Spring Turn-on Service
We will visit your property and turn on your sprinklers at your desired date and time, so you don't have to! Take the stress off of sprinkler turn-ons by reaching out to us. We can help guide you on when to turn on your system for the spring, as well as when to turn it off in the fall.

Culinary Water
If your sprinkler system is running on culinary water (it comes from your water meter by the road to a stop and waste valve buried deep in the ground), you can turn on your sprinklers whenever you want. We generally recommend doing this is April or May, once there has been no snowfall for several weeks.

Pressurized Irrigation
If your system is on pressurized irrigation, you will need to know when your city turns on the water, as different cities do so at different times. Below, we have provided a list with cities in Utah County on Pressurized Irrigation and their respective schedules. These schedules sometimes change slightly from year to year depending on weather, so we recommend checking with your city before turning on your sprinklers. Or, if you call us, we can talk to your city's Public Works department for you so you don't have to worry about it! If your city isn't on this list, you most likely are on culinary water, and you can turn on your sprinklers whenever you are ready.

Sprinkler Winterization
If you have a lawn irrigation system and you live in a place that gets cold in the winter, such as Utah, it is important that you have your sprinklers professionally winterized in order to prevent costly repairs in the future. Failing to winterize your sprinkler system can lead to thousands of dollars in repairs when you turn your system on again in the spring. Although your sprinklers won't always become damaged over the winter, every year you fail to winterize decreases the longevity of your sprinkler system.

The most common issues faced by homeowners who fail to winterize their system is cracks in their backflow preventer. Coincidentally, this is also likely to be the most expensive part on your entire system, and the most difficult to replace without the help of a professional. If your backflow is broken or leaking, we are happy to help replace or repair it.

If you want to avoid costly repairs, we highly recommend that you winterize your system in October. This is the same time that Pressurized Irrigation systems are turning off for most cities, and it's right before the weather starts to get too cold to need sprinklers. But don't worry! Your grass will get all the water it needs over the winter from the snow, and it'll come back stronger than ever in the spring.
Pricing
Pricing for most sprinkler maintenance, including winterization and turn-ons, varies depending on the size of your property and the way your system is set up, but typically costs between $100-$150 per service. However, we include spring turn-ons, adjustments, winterization services, and a whole lot more for those who subscribe to our annual plan, which is a good way to save money if you want to keep your sprinkler system in good shape year-round. If you'd like to get a quote on just having your sprinkler system winterized, give us a call at 801-709-0681 or fill out the form below!
